Fall Online Mixed-Ages

Bringing The Joy of Family Music® making into your living room, while keeping the 'together' in Music Together®!

With Music Together Online, you’ll have access to the same high-quality music and movement curriculum loved by millions of families and teachers around the world—from home!

Like all our classes, Music Together Online is designed to teach the way young children learn: through play. During each online music class, your beloved Music Together teacher will lead music activities for the whole family to sing, play, and jam along to and show you how to make everyday items like dish towels, pots, and stuffies into musical props. In the online model, while we are using Zoom and Facebook to lead class, it is important to note that each class has been designed as an interactive music-making experience for you and your little one to connect through music. Your teachers are on screen to facilitate and guide the adults in face-to-face musical play with their child. Interactive play facilitated via the screen is quite different from passive screen time!

Classes are appropriate for children under 5, but the entire family is welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in the musical fun.

Fall Online Mixed-age Classes Include:

  • 10 weeks of 35 minute live, interactive classes via Zoom, with your beloved teacher (maximum 12 families)
  • Access to our private Facebook group offering 10 weekly Facebook Live classes, plus bonus events, resources and video content
  • All NEW music from the Bongos songbook and CD including a digital music download code (inside your songbook) that can be used to download the music to your free Hello Everybody App or your MusicTogether.com account

  • Access to the MTofKW Family Portal offering bonus video content, downloadable music activities and colouring pages to go with each song collection

  • Access to musical games and activities on the Music Together Family Zone at www.MusicTogether.com or the Hello Everybody App

How Does this Work?

We know screen time isn’t generally recommended for this age group, but here’s the difference: YOU! When children stare at a screen and passively receive information, they don’t take it in the same way nor do they learn in the same way as when they have the active participation of a caregiver or parent. SO, just like in our regular classes, you’re still the most important part. Your teacher will be on the screen, your children might see their classmates on the screen, but it is truly the interaction of the parent/caregiver with the child that is going to continue their music development! Seeing and hearing you speaking the language of music is vital for your child to learn the language themselves. Children learn any language at this age by listening to the adults around them speak that language. Music is no different. Your teacher won’t be “performing” for everyone online, but instead, just as always, they'll be facilitating the adults participation and role modelling for their little ones! We encourage you to participate the same way you would normally in the classroom even if your child wanders away and comes back frequently through the class. We will support each other as adults in this experience and we will be receiving a lot of benefits ourselves like increased endorphin and oxitocin levels and 'upping' our mood through the act of making music. Lucky us!
